HOTEL GRAN VÍA. MADRID-INGLES

It is a hotel project that is developed in a historic block of the city of Madrid, at No. 31 in the heart of Gran Via in Madrid. This historic building with a trapezoidal floor plan on a very uneven site, consists of a first floor with basements, first floor and mezzanine, and the first and second floors; a central body that flies over the previous one containing the third to seventh floors; and a third crowning body with the eighth, ninth and tenth floors with several staggered terraces and towers on its three facades.

Structurally it has a layout of bays parallel to the three facades with a central courtyard of lights and ventilation with the main stairs and elevators located in one of the faces of the courtyard giving a central character to the whole.

Our proposal maintains the structural character of the entire building, respecting the historical structural system, reinforcing the pillars that we consider necessary to comply with current regulations. We conserve the load-bearing lines by maintaining the existing columns, reinforcing and repairing those that are not in good condition.

At the main entrance of the building we acted with a proposal that emphasizes the spatial unity of the hallway that connects the main entrance from Gran Vía street with the stairwell, respecting the vaulted ceilings and recovering the ornamental elements on the walls. The elevator body is modified
